| IAS was formally founded in
1998 with a product line of conformal coating equipment which incorporated
the knowledge and experience
of The Paint Line Supply Company, recognized industry leader since
1977. It was the engineering expertise of the Paint Line Supply Company
which gave birth to IAS, the company which later acquired its “parent”.
As IAS expanded beyond conformal coating
and entered other industries, it was able to apply the diverse
engineering background of its staff
to help customers identify needs and create cost effective solutions
which outperform, in production, quality, and reliability, any commercial
off the shelf (COTS) system. This process has led IAS to develop
a wide variety of product lines in a diverse set of industries including
conformal coating, honing, brush manufacturing, blind manufacturing,
and paint coating. This business core has become the Industrial
Applications Group within IAS.
IAS has recognized that often the most
cost effective and adaptive solutions are those implemented through
software. The company has
grown to include a Software Development
Group which writes custom
software for, among others, CAD/CAM, wireless industry intranet database
management, and industrial controllers.
The Technology Integration
Group has
developed into an engineering consulting service applying and integrating
technologies in novel
ways for clients. Applications have included the reduction of EM
radiation from biomedical devices, connecting shop floors to company
intranets, engineering PLC-free industrial control systems, and incorporating
machine vision and robotics systems into automated inspection stations.
IAS has managed its growth by intentionally
seeking out diverse and remarkable engineering talent. IAS engineers
have experience
in a wide range of programming languages, mechanical machine design,
electrical machine design, electromagnetics, communications, antenna
theory, mathematics, medical instrumentation, the physics of material
coating, and even atmospheric science. Merriam-Webster defines the
act of engineering as "The application of scientific and mathematical
principles to practical ends such as the design, manufacture, and
operation of efficient and economical structures, machines, processes,
and systems." IAS's exceptional staff of engineers relishes
this high minded view.
