BACKGROUND
A worldwide automotive components manufacturer was seeking a capital equipment purchase for their new conformal coating application. The company needed a custom solution that met their unique design criteria. Furthermore past experience with international requirements and various conformal coatings was desired.
PROBLEM
The customer had high volume projections for their new product line. Minimal occupied floor space per machine and ease of maintainability were high on the design criteria checklist in the new facility. The specified conformal coating did not possess optimal properties for application methods other than automated dipping. The customer needed a machine with proven reliability and international support. IAS was contacted to engineer the automation machinery and deliver the system on time.
SOLUTION
IAS investigated the customers Statement of Work and followed through with a proposal that met or exceeded the customer's requirements. Drawing on extensive experience with the selected conformal coating IAS implemented the engineered system. The system exceeded the customer's production rate criteria and provided a scalable platform for future product lines. Floor space was kept to a minimum while adhering to international air shipment size constraints. IAS' solution to the customer's high volume application required just one machine to perform the conformal coating process on multiple product lines.
